Thank you for your willingness to accept the responsibilities of a Lay Pastor in our parish. The ministry of the lay Pastor is an important and integral part of our parish life here at Queen of Angels. You will be supported in the ministry through encouragement, assistance in Lay Pastor preparation, and of course, with our prayers.

Hopefully, you will be personally enriched through your service to the community. You are the voice of the parish, interacting with others in a very personal way. As a Lay Pastor you will be representing Queen of Angels; more importantly, you will be bringing Christ to others through your ministry.

(NAME), we are inviting you to formally become a Lay Pastor and serve our parish by signing the form below and returning it to the parish no later than…

The commitment for Ministry of Lay Pastor is as follows:

1.     I will serve a three-year term beginning…

2.     I will attend the monthly Lay Pastors’ meetings on the third Tuesday of every month

3.     I will complete each assignment within the calendar month

4.     I will assume responsibility for finding a replacement for the months I can not call my assigned parish members.

5.     I will attend the yearly retreat and days of reflection

6.     I will remain in communication with the coordinator (s) of the Lay Pastors’ Society

7.     I agree that if I can not fulfill my obligations as Lay Pastor during my term of ministry, I will relinquish my parish list upon request of the coordinator.

8.     I will maintain confidentiality with regard to personal  communications with my assigned parish members.

9.     I will maintain all records required for my ministry
