St.
Gabriel's, Poway, CA
LPS Mission
Our mission is to serve and act as helping hands of Christ's love for His
flock by reaching out to St. Gabriel's parish members via telephone, face to
face, or other communications so that we may help to assist, serve and unite
families of our parish, and thus provide a personal affirmation of Christ's
love.
Goals
- To reach out to all on a monthly basis including those in need: the
infirmed, lonely, isolated from the church, and spiritually hungry. To
listen to and pray for their concerns, be a friend, to show and share the
love of Christ.
- To recruit enough Lay Pastor Ministers to reach all families of St.
Gabriel's parish.
- To attend monthly meetings and offer support, understanding, compassion,
encouragement, and love to fellow Lay Pastors.
- To inform the parish community of the mission, goals and workings of the
Lay Pastor Society. This will be accomplished by: speaking to parish
groups, recruiting during masses by priests or Lay Pastors, and encouraging
others to participate in this ministry.
- To act as the smiling voices of the church.
